Cello

The cello is a stringed musical instrument, similar in shape to a violin and larger than a viola. It is played by sitting with the instrument between the legs, resting on the floor, and playing with a bow. The cello has a rich and powerful sound, and is an important member of the string family, often playing a leading role in classical and modern orchestras. Sarah Watts' book, "Razzamajazz for Cello," is an excellent guide for beginning cellists, providing fun pieces to help them learn and develop their skills. The book starts with just one note and gradually introduces more complex pieces up to sixteen notes. Included with the book is access to free backing tracks with and without the cello part, so that students can practice and perfect their playing.
